The new Road&Track 30 mm front fork cartridge kit from Öhlins is
based on experience gained from World Supersport and Superstock
Championships. It doesn’t matter if you are heading for a National
Roadracing title or if you are taking your bike to the local race track.
The NIX 30mm cartridge kit will give you loads of performance, stable
damping characteristics and fantastic comfort. Greater Surface
Area translates into more control, less negative pressure on the back
side of the piston virtually eliminating cavitation commonly found on
other brands of cartridge kits.
These 30mm NIX Cartridge Kit has a unique design with compression
damping and adjuster on the left leg and rebound damping and adjuster on
the right leg – i.e. all adjustments are on the TOP of the Forks
Together, with the Spring Pre-Load adjusters.

the Dual Sport and Adventure bikes. Based on the successful road racing
kits, the Öhlins cartridge kits have now been made for the medium sized
adventure bikes. Based on the successful Öhlins technology, we are proud
to introduce Öhlins cartridge kits for this segment. Medium sized
adventure bikes used in their right element on true adventures both on
and off the road can now enjoy the improved comfort and performance from
an Öhlins cartridge kit. Öhlins R&D decided to go for a solution based
on the successful Öhlins NIX technology to reach the goal of a cartridge
that can deliver both comfort and performance, and go longer than an
off-road kit between servicing.
The small design of the cartridge kit makes it fit easily in the upside
down OE forks most adventures bikes are equipped with today. The kits
are easy to install, just pop out the OE kits and install the Öhlins
cartridge kits instead. Thanks to the FKA100 kits from Öhlins the bikes
now has a fully adjustable front end. Rebound damping is on one leg and
compression in the other leg,
with adjustable spring preload in both legs.
Together with an overall improved damping system, the bike is
transformed and can deliver so much more. Different springs are
available for riders individual demands as well as an effective
hydraulic stop inside the kit to prevent bottoming. After tests we feel
confident this cartridge kit improves the adventure bike both in terms
of comfort and overall performance. Fast gravel roads on a weekend or
piloting around small trails to find the perfect stop for the night
demands both comfort and performance.

The Öhlins Road & Track NIX22 cartridge kit is based on
experience learned through decades of testing and racing in
high tier championships. The kit delivers loads of performance
with stable damping characteristics while ensuring great
comfort, contributing to rider confi dence. This technology is
now available for you whether you own a light weight sport
bike such as the Yamaha R3 or Honda CBR 300R or a street
bike such as the Yamaha MT-07 or the Kawasaki ER6N; you
can now enjoy improved handling and rider experience.
The Kit has the Öhlins proven “NIX” design which features
compression damping in the left leg and rebound damping
in the right leg, which allows for a more precise function and
stability. Adjustments are made at the top together with the
spring preload and the cartridge system fits bolt-on, springs
have to be ordered individually.
The NIX22-kit has been tested extensively and tailor made to
suit the individual requirements and characteristics for each
individual bike.

Fork CartridgeKit for Harley Davidson FLH/FLT H-D Touring Models*
The Öhlins FKC 101 Fork Cartridge
Kit introduces Öhlins quality and performance to the front forks of the popular
line of Harley Davidson FLH/FLT Touring Baggers. The goal with the new kit was
to create a high-end cartridge damping system with maximum comfort for the
Harley-Davidson front forks. The focus for the development of this application
has been on vehicle control and a smooth comfortable ride. The kit features an 8
mm steel shaft, an aluminum damper tube and 25 mm pistons. The kit also features
the Öhlins NIX technology with rebound damping in one leg and compression
damping in the other leg. This maximizes the damping that is available within
the confied diameter of the fork leg. Due to the mounting requirements of the
FLH/FLT fork legs the FKC 101 kit has no external adjusters. The kit is easy to
install in the originally equipped fork legs. Optional spring rates are
available for individual rider weights, preferences and motorcycle use. It´s
never been easier to improve the comfort this much.
The compression and rebound cartridges are largely identical but work in
opposite ways. The cylinder tubes and the main pistons are positioned in
opposite directions in the compression and rebound cartridges to achieve rebound
damping force in one leg and compression in the other. When you are riding your
bike and the front fork moves, the fluid inside the fork leg is forced to flow
through the compression and rebound pistons. At a compression movement the fluid
is forced through the compression shim stack and the bleed valve and at the same
time through the rebound check valve. At a rebound movement, the fluid is forced
through the rebound shim stack and the bleed valve and through the compression
check valve. The fluid displaced during these processes is directed into or out
of the cylinder tubes through the holes.
