OHLINS Electronic Controlled Shocks. "EC" First application into production will be for BMW K1200RS. The system will allow you to instantly optimise damping adjustment to suit your riding style and road condition. The Electronic Controlled (EC) damping is set by simply push the buttons on the control panel of the electronic unit. The dampers settings will change within 10 milliseconds. By setting high figures on the control panel the damping will increase, and low figures will make the damping decrease. High damping are recommended when riding with passenger and/or greater loads, high damping will also give better performance when riding on a race track. Low damping will give better comfort when riding at crusing speed. Features: The control unit has a two-row display showing how much damping power the shock absorbers has. The upper rowshows the front wheel damping and the lower shows the rear wheel damping. If the electronic control only operates one shock absorber, the damping force is read in the upper row and the lower display row shows the electrical voltage of the motorcycle. By pressing the ÖHLINS logotype you choose front or rear setting and by pushing the + or - buttons you increase or decrease damping forces. The control unit will only be supplied in the rear shock package, and will then include software for both front and rear shock, if only the front shock is purchased the control has to be ordered separate on part number 03700-01 together with bracket 03720-01 and screws 00382-20 (3 pcs). Technical specification: Power consumption 1 damper 1A at 12V (12W) 2 dampers 2A at 12V (24W). When motorcycle is restarted the adjusters will return to the latest earlier chosen position. If power supply fails or any other electronics malfunction would occur there is always a certain amount of damping in the shock absorber for safe driving (mechanical fail-safe mode).
