Everyone knows it's hard to beat the performance of a stock Yamaha exhaust. Rarely is such an effort achieved, but in true Yoshimura form, we outdid ourselves.
The best of both worlds. Our first foray into the concept of the hybrid MX system has been with the Honda CRF450RWE, where the durability of the stainless steel header and a light weight titanium muffler reaps rewards without sacrifice. The benefits of the hybrid system revolves around using a stainless steel header where durability is an issue, but focusing on a lighter version of the muffler where we can save big on weight. This concept finds a sweet spot at the intersection of durability. weight, and budget.
Massive Power Gains
Throughout the entire power spectrum our engineers outperformed the stock unit at every RPM. Even torque across the spectrum is improved. Up 9.3% hp gains at 6,200 rpm and up to 9.6% torque is achieved at 6,200 rpm. Even all the way up to the top our hybrid RS-12 system has substantial performance.
Significant Weight Savings
Our new RS-12 hybrid system comes in with less weight than stock thanks to our power producing titanium/aluminum RS-12 muffler.
Header Resonator
Our new Yamaha YZ450F system boasts a volume specific header resonator that not only looks like a work of art, it helps put the power where its needed.
Muffler Resonator
Inside the front cap of the power producing RS-12 is another resonator that enhances the power characteristics of the new YZ.
109dB Capable
If you're a professional racer you know how important passing the FIM and AMA sound regulations can be. Our new RS-12 system is built with that in mind and can pass the 109db sound standard with an optional INS-39-K.
Easy Install!
The new RS-12 is easy to install due to the where the header uses its machined joint. In fact its been said that the new system goes on much easier than the stock one comes off. We agree!
Proudly engineered, developed, and built in Chino, California—Yoshimura quality you can count on.
