Profi II-6 Considered the Industry Standard, Profi style harnesses are defined by a T-bar sub strap that clicks into the bottom of the Cam-Lock. Can be used in virtually any application - it excels in Production based racecars. The Profi II-6 is Schroth's most popular belt. It is the perfect solution for a touring car. It features the 2" lap Flexi Lap Belt, the T-bar sub strap and the standard 3" shoulder belts. All points are wrapped in, so you can add almost any end fitting for your specific application. The main premise behind the 2" lap belt is one of added safety. A 2" belt rides within the crest of the human pelvis where a 3" belt would rest on the edges. Porsche GT3 BELTS Porsche GT3 Cup Cars come with Schroth belts direct from the factory. III Harness Schroth's Clubman Harness is an inexpensive version of a Profi Harness using different hardware and with limited configurations. Perfect for people who are required to change harnesses every two years. What is the difference between this and the next level up "Profi" belts? Adusters and Options. The adjusters in the Clubman belt are the heavy, bulky steel adjusters that are common on competitors restraints. They are not as easy to use and add weight to the harness. They are, however, cheaper and bring down the overall cost of the harness. Why would you want this belt? There are a couple reasons you might want this belt. Mainly cost. Drag racers, circle track racers, and many other racing bodies must have SFI 16.1 approved harnesses. Please note: the picture shows an anti-sub strap with one bolt-in and one snap-in end fitting. II-6F IRL Profi II-6 Formula Style harness specific to IRL Style chassis and other formula cars. Different from Standard harness in length and end fittings. This harness is designed to be used with double pinch plate mounting mechanisms on the Lap and Sub belts, so it comes with open ended Lap and Sub belts. The lap belts are shorter than standard formula harnesses, and measure 21" from end to end. Shoulders are available as either the HANS Specific 2"/3" Shoulder belts, or the Double Shoulder system. Formula Style Formula Cars are an interesting breed of vehicles to make safety belts for. Most vehicles have limited space to work with, and in many cases drivers are sitting on the attachment points for their belts making snap in fittings uncomfortable. From Schroth’s experience in Formula One, their Formula belts have continually evolved into what they are today. A Traditional formula style restraint has a very unique method of transferring load from the sub straps to the cam lock. The sub straps are routed through D-rings sewn to the lap belts and then wrapped around the shoulder belt hardware. This allows there to be no hardware between the driver’s legs providing more comfort in the extreme confines of a formula car. All points of a Schroth formula restraint are bolt in. Laps and Subs are wrapped in to allow maximum flexibility. Some chassis require different bolt sizes than others and to combat that, Schroth has developed lap belt brackets provided with sleeves of varying Inner Diameters to accommodate the most popular bolt sizes. This design also allows the lap belt hardware to pivot freely and find the best geometry. On Non-Hans versions, shoulder belts are sewn. One other feature of Schroth’s formula restraints is the absence of a length adjuster on the lap belt. This allows for use in very tight confines where such hardware would not fit. A 2" belt rides within the crest of the human pelvis where a 3" belt would rest on the edges. This allows you to get the belt up to an inch and a half tighter. 3 The Hybrid belts are a breakthrough in Harness design, blending a formula style harness with something much more effective that gives excellent restraint in an extremely comfortable package. Typical Formula restraints (Profi II Formula/Profi III Formula) display high upper torso trajectory during a crash. To reduce this trajectory, the crotch straps have to be routed backwards and to be worn extremely tight. Some drivers complain of reduced blood flow in their legs. In addition, this configuration does not help during a rear impact to keep the buckle and the lap belt in place. In particular in typical open wheel race car seating positions the driver is not kept firmly in his seat but is likely to move up exceeding the roll over protection. The so called "T-bar" 6 point restraints (Profi II-6/Profi III-5/Profi III-6) provide a better restraining function since the anti-sub straps can be routed downward following approximately a chest/crotch tangential. This keeps the buckle in place and provides direct load transfer from the shoulder straps into the Anti-sub strap. During a rear impact the Anti-sub strap keeps the buckle and lap belt in place and restrains the driver much better in the seat. The disadvantage of this type of harness: the T-bar should have a certain width to properly separate the Anti-sub straps but is likely to stick into the upper thighs. To increase the comfort, the buckle is often not worn as low as it should be for best lap belt positioning. The solution: the revolutionary Schroth Hybrid restraint. The crotch straps are not routed through D-rings or attached to a T-bar, but are held directly by the specially developed lap belt latches. Thanks to the patented Schroth RFR rotary buckle the load transfer from the shoulder belts through the buckle into the anti-sub straps and vice versa in case of a rear impact is achieved. This direct load flow is important for optimal restraining function. So the main thing that sets the Hybrid belts apart from the rest is the direct load transfer from the sub straps to the cam lock in an extremely comfortable way. It performs better while making you more comfortable. This is definitely a good thing. The Hybrid III comes with 3" webbing on shoulder and lap belts, with the 2" webbing on the subs. Sub Strap and end fittings come as Snap-In but are wrapped in, so if you want them to wrap or bolt, just purchase the bolt on kits and you're all set. II ASM FE - 4 Point FIA homologated 4 Point restraints that feature the only system in the world designed to make a 4 point restraint safe: ASM. This asymmetric energy conversion keeps you from submarining in an impact.. The Profi II ASM FE is essentially the same as the Profi II ASM, except it features a Push-Button Cam lock for applications where street driving is anticipated. The orange push button that says "Press" is necessary to retain street legality and so an EMT that shows up at an accident scene will know how to release your restraint. The FE version also features sewn in Bolt-In Tabs for the lap belt attachment points, for use in applications where space is limited. Because of the sewn in end fittings, the Flex Belt lap is not available in this harness. It is designed to be used as a four point system. For this reason it is perfect for use in Driver Education cars or any other application where stock seats are retained. A seat that was not originally desiged for use with a racing restraint should never be modified to accept an sub strap. The Profi II ASM incorporates Schroth's legendary ASM (Anti-SubMarining) technology that is the only thing like it on the market. ASM is an extra fold of material sewn into the inboard shoulder belt that elongates at a different rate than the outboard belt. This allows your upper torso to twist slightly. On the rebound phase, your torso is planted firmly back in the seat rather than allowed to slide under the lap belt. You can add a single or dual sub strap to make this belt into a 5 point or 6 point at any time. We have recently tested this harness with a HANS device, and the results were great. You can use 4 point ASM Harnesses with a HANS device.
